The reason that BYU signed off on the Mtn/CSTV deal
as explained to me by an insider fan, is that the BYU athletic dept. was facing a pretty big deficit somewhere to the tune of 2 million dollars. And suddenly a windfall is presented to them that would fill that hole. They took it.
The rest is history.
