I think you're a little on the pessimistic side (but pretty close), but 7-2 gets you to the Rose Bowl some years. BYU hasn't been to the Rose Bowl in the last 100 years, so if they could make it once in the next ten years by going to the Pac 10, we would be ecstatic.
