My assumption is that he and McCain have an understanding that Huck is the VP running mate if McCain gets the nom. So Huckabee has a vested interest in staying in the race as long as possible, taking votes from Romney to ensure McCain the nomination.
I read that as of last Friday, Rush is now telling listeners not to vote for Huck because "a vote for Huckabee is a vote for McCain."
