I am a BoSox fan and I think this trade is fantastic for the Sox. Manny was clearly not going to exercise any option years with the BoSox, so this year would be it for Manny and the Sox anyways. Why not get something for him? Not only did the Sox get someone decent, they got someone whose numbers are almost identical to Manny's and who is several years younger and a thousand times less crazy. Manny is a great player, but he can take his antics to the Dodgers and the Sox shouldn't even notice a big drop off in production from Bay.
