I got my first LP in January or so of 1964. I was in sixth grade and paid $3.98 for a new group my mom thought was subversive due to hair length. "Meet the Beatles."

I'm not sure of my first 45, but it may have been "Leader of the Laundromat", a parody of "Leader of the Pack." I'm embarrassed to know of both songs.
