I identified with the part in the article about the bridegroom breaking every traffic rule to get to the hotel. That was Mike, except we hit a blockade about a block from the place. They had closed several Portland streets to prepare for the Rose parade.
Oh, and Mike's mom kept calling us in the hotel room. She called us right after we got there, and then several more times throughout the weekend.

We passed up my mother- and father-in-law on the interstate on the way to the hotel on our wedding night. And when I say "passed up" I mean we really flew by them. That was embarrassing.
