I hate myself just a little for contribution to another mention of the stache, but really, think of Napeoleon Dynamite, for example. Would Kip have been the same without the moustache?
It's a Village People concept and a largely a false stereotype. I have to say MANY of the gay men I know acutally have goatees. My brother does, as does his partner. They went on a cruise with some gay friends, and we were laughing for a while looking at the photos of all these men with goatees.
