I don't like the WCC. While teams in good leagues have tons of meaningful matchups during conference play, we have little in the way of interesting games. Gonzaga and SMC. And then upset losses to the dregs.

I'd much rather be in the MWC for basketball. Not an option though.

Isn't it weird that BSU is arguably now a better basketball program than BYU?
It was a great league in the last few years we were in it, but it's not that anymore. They had to add a lot of dead weight (has San Jose State even won a single D1 game yet this year?) Mostly the MWC has just figured out as a league how to manipulate the rpi to their advantage, and it may help them get marginal teams like CSU into the dance. I guess you can credit them for that. BSU isn't bad, but they're not better than BYU this year or in the coming years.

And given the MWC's history in the NCAA tournament I'd say, "please give us a MWC team to play in the NCAA tournament!" There are other things about the MWC that are better than the WCC, but they're not really about the quality of the basketball. It's mostly just the environments and fan interest that are better. I'm not convinced that teams like CSU or even SDSU or BSU would have that easy of a time in the WCC. WCC teams play much smarter in general and shoot better. MWC teams are more athletic but in general dumber and not great shooters. That has to be a major reason why BYU did so well there. The SDSU/BSU game the other night was horrid offensively and totally unwatchable if it weren't for the importance of the game in terms of NCAA tournament implications.
