Let's count the ways the LDS Church is invested in the Polynesian cultures.
First, there is a university in Hawaii which admits Polynesians preferentially.
Second, there are numerous outreaches to the various Polynesian island groups, including scholarships and other fundings.
Third, the LDS Church has built schools and other buildings for the promotion of Polynesian culture. There is a prep school in New Zealand for students of Maori descent.
Fourth, outside of the University of Hawaii, BYU has the most Polynesian players on its team and probably the second most students of Polynesian descent.
Of course, you were aware of these facts and sought to troll.
BYU being interested in and having a deep connection to the Polynesian culture cannot be said to be misappropriating the artwork from one of its cultures.
