My grandad after whom I'm named was a Jack Mormon. He led the fight against the Sunday closing law in Salt Lake, and he sold an ocean of beer from his little markets and bars, which financed his sons' law school educations. His father converted to Mormonism in his native the Hague, Netherlands, but fell way, and most of my grand dad's siblings returned to the Dutch Reform church.
