The reason so many fouls were called against BYU was because of BYU's poor defense and fouling. It was some of the worst defense I have seen all season from BYU. And that's what led to the loss.

Xavier's game against Ohio State gives pretty solid evidence, IMO, that they were a legit team that was not overseeded. So why did some loudmouths on CBS complain about Xavier being in the tournament? Simply put, because they come from the Atlantic 10 conference and not something more chic like the Big East. The problem the mid-majors have is they are automatically assumed to suck unless they prove otherwise, and even if they do go out and beat some big name teams before getting into their conference schedules (like Air Force or Drexel) it still doesn't help them as they get passed over for teams like Stanford that did nothing to show they deserved to be in it other than conference affiliation.
