This is where Mormons are not pragmatic enough.

We make a political contest a morality play. Both Dems and Reps do this.

Dems the "party of compassion" wheres the rich Reps.

Reps demonize the other side as well, and perhaps for the masses it's a good sell. But those who choose to inform themselves shouldn't moralize it so much and focus upon the actual acts of governance. There may be candidates who espouse governing principles which are anathemas to good governance, such as Hillary, but the Reps played the stupid game too long, the individual morality of the candidates is not as important as the ability to govern.

I actually see the leading candidates for the Dems as completely incapable of governing. A Hillary presidency would sink to the levels of Bush as would Obama, due to lack of experience. Washington kills moderately capable persons or dividers.

Giuliani might be able to govern, but Romney appears most able to govern.
