I googled BYU is toxic and this thread came up near the top.

So it's public. They're bashing LGBT for keeping them out of the Big 12. The level of defensiveness and delusion (and bigotry and hate) in that thread is an object lesson in why the world has so much antipathy for BYU. One poster says that if the Big 12 handled expansion like other conferences BYU would be in. I guess one unfortunate thing about the LGBT coming to a head at this moment in history is that it obscures BYU much larger problems that I've been highlighting for years of which this is just a symptom. If it were all about LGBT, if that were BYU's only problem, why did the Big 12 take TCU over BYU and why did the Pac 12 take Utah over BYU--back when BYU's discrimination against LGBT was not widely condemned by society and before same sex marriage was a Constitutional right, mainstreaming the LGBT lifestyle?
