Some dryers have a high thermostat and a high limit switch/breaker. Make sure the high limit switch/breaker isn't tripped (although this might have been what you repalced) and in need of being re-set.

How would I reset it if that's the case? Or would there not be a need if I replaced it?
And Mike, I'd be all for drying the clothes on a line, but my wife is against it. She didn't grow up with line dried clothes like I did.
