Not to make light of a tragedy, but that part about the bear tracks just kills. I can see some news producer just wondering how he can spice up the story:

"Hey, the pants were found in the wilderness. There must be animal tracks within a couple of miles. Let's see..Raccoon tracks? No. Deer tracks? No. Mountain lion tracks? Maybe. Bear tracks? Yeah, that's golden."
