Jared Hess and othe other director - both grew up Mormon. I have no idea of their current affiliation.
The thing that really stuck with me after watching the documentary was just how evil Hofmann was. Sociopath who dedicated his life to deception, fraud, and power. And then finally murder. It feels like an example of the literal face of evil.
They said he spent a lot of his money eating out and drinking. I suspect it was a lot more than that, those east coast trips.
There’s a part where Shannon Flynn’s eye starts blinking, like a tic. It’s almost like an exaggerated purposeful tell. The directors I’m sure enjoyed including that.
