That was my best time during intervals. The sprinters laughed. Our best quartermiler did a 48, and jogged by me.
Just so we're clear, I know I suck at short distances, I have always sucked and will always suck.
Until you start at the mile, where I still suck, just not as badly, I sucked. I remember the track coach laughing about my 200. He was roaring in seventh grade. I was all proud of my 28 seconds or something and he just said, "Archie, you suck, go back to the mile and two mile."
