When she was at BYU, she published in a medical journal. Although it's not unusual for economists and political scientists to do that, those articles are mostly studies where one variable in the regression is a health variable. Her study was a molecular one, and on cystic fibrosis.
She also published in an MIT journal for international affairs and was invited to Brookings. Apparently, more schools are becoming aware of her.
