Because they are elegant machines. Finely crafted. Remember that favorite toy growing up? The one with heft and quality. You felt something special when you held that toy. The same is true of a finely crafted firearm.
Firing guns is also interesting. On the one hand you have an explosion as the hot gasses propel the bullet forward. On the other hand you have perfect stillness. Inner stillness combines with destructive power. There is a tension in that, that is worth exploring.
Anyway, here is the gun that has been on my wishlist for a long time:
1. Springfield Armory M1A. Classic weapon. Very accurate and powerful. You could feel comfortable hunting with this. Downside is that it is very expensive and quite a bit heavier than its competitors (like the AR-15). |
