Someone asked why Vranes didn't go to BYU. BYU never had a chance at him. Judkins was a star on Utah's team and Vranes was his first cousin, and they were close. Vranes was pie in the sky for BYU even though BYU fans thought otherwise. Judkins was never happy about the fact that BYU didn't recruit him. I knew about the situation then as I was the Ute basketball manager and was friends with Judkins.
By the way, there's only one thing that would turn Ute fans off on Jensen--if he took a job at BYU to feed his family. Then they'd hate him. Otherwise, even if he robbed a bank I'm sure they'd retain this unrealistic crazy love for him.
