The only thing I know about Panguitch is from the movie "Contact". Remember the red-headed religious zealot who blows up the time travel machine? His suicide video was shot in Panguitch.
I'm guessing one of the writers got pulled over for speeding there and was still ticked off over it. Thats the main reason wht I still dislike the town of Ephraim. Darn temple pagent police.
