WashPo: Bush prewar intel "generally substantiated"
A remarkable writeup.
We all know Bush is a bit of a clown. We all know Iraq was badly mismanaged. But the "Bush lied" echo chamber antics have been cheapening the public discourse for years. No one ever managed to explain to me... if Bush just "lied" then what about the Russian intel that agreed with ours? Or the German intel (detailed by Clintonite Ken Pollack in the Atlantic Monthly) that gave even more dire estimates on Iraq's nuclear ambition than we had? Or the Jordanian intel that reported the mobile labs? Or the fact that Egyptian intel seconded our estimates? Were they all lying to? Props to Fred Hiatt and Wash Po for calling the hacks on this game. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...060801687.html |
