What the world eats
photo essay
http://www.time.com/time/photogaller...626519,00.html Look at all that bread in the Sicilian family picture! That is the diet for me. Lots of packaged food, little produce in both the Japanese and North Carolinian families. Sobering amount of food for the refugee camp family. |

Farrah, you've now seen with your own eyes a bit of what I got to eat on my mission in that photo of the Sicilian family. Throw in several different pastas and that would complete the food list. The bread in Sicily is the best in all of Italy.

Very interesting. I'll stop complaining on fast sunday now after seeing how the refugee family compared to everyone else.
And since when do Chinese eat baguettes?

The Germans spend $500 a week on food? Holy cow! (Of course, I did note a lot of beer).
To her credit, Mrs. Meanie manages to feed our family of 7 on <$150/week on average - and I ain't exactly starving to death. |
