This year could be like 1994
Our Conference could have 3 top 10 teams (with TCU playing the role of CSU) and Air Force winning 8 games. If TCU somehow beats Oklahoma in two weeks then its possible.

What's NM's record? They are winning against AZ. Of course everybody's beating the seven dwarves this week.

I especially remember our mutual friend coming over to my house during the game for a shoulder to cry on. She was dealing with the whole teenage pregnancy-give-the-baby-up-for-adoption issue (a serious issue to be sure), but I kept nodding my head absently and saying, "okay, sure. You're right." while I watched the game over her shoulder. I'm a cold-hearted bastard but hey, it wasn't my kid. And it was the biggest Utah game of my life (up to that point). Heady days.

The past five MWC champions have all posted impressive records (10-2, 12-0, 12-1, 11-2, 11-2), but none of the second place teams were really all of that.
This year, if Utah, TCU and BYU all win 10+ games, they will make one another collectively stronger and the conference champion may be the most noteworthy champion in years, one who really had to dig down to earn it. Presently the three teams are ranked 8th, 15th and 17th in the Sagarin. Wow 3 of the top 17 teams in the land, in the eyes of the computer. (And thanks in part to UNLV's upset of ASU I'm sure). |
