Default TdF questions...

Yellow Jersey = Overall Leader
Polka Dot Jersey = Sprinter
Green Jersey = Climber
White Jersey = Best Newer Rider

I have no idea if these are right so please correct me and add any additional helpful insight. thanks!.. I bought the 2005 Tour de France. 12 hours of coverage and bonus coverage. 6 dvds. should be fun.

To add to this, teams havea"GC" guy. Heis the best general rider on the team and shoots for the ellow jersey.
Some guys know they will never have a shot at yellow. But work omly for the green orpolka dot.
Until this year, Rasmussen was cinsidered only polka dot material. But Ithink he thinks he can be a GC guy now.
Boonen, McGewen and Rogers are guys that are only there to Sprint and steal a stage here and there.

thanks mike for the clarification.. green jersey gets the green light to go fast and the polka dots i'll imagine are climbing blocks... thanks.

the GC guy... that was another question i had. he's the main guy on the team that's really going for the yellow jersey. what does GC stand for?

GC = General Classification, meaning overall standing.

I think the KOM is stupid. The true KOM is the guy who wins the overall race. I could care less who sprints up the most small hills and racks up the points.
