Default CES and their anonymous line

My neighbor who teaches at BYU-I told me yesterday the he had received a memo telling him that the CES has a anonymous phone line that faculty members can call in on and report of misdoings of other faculty or CES employees. That seems to be walking down a very dangerous path.

I will bet the list of reportable misdoings at BYU-I is much more extensive than the ones at your company.

Call up the line at your company and report someone missed having family home evening and see what the response is.

Maybe it's more common then I thought. I've never worked anywhere like that. I think the potential problem here is when it starts to pry into these peoples personal life.

There are good people who work in CES, but as I've stated before, it is problematic on multiple levels.

I've never worked in a large corporation, because that policy surprises me.

In a large corporation, it's to allow for the reporting of harassment or fraud, minimizing potential liability for the corporation.

CES dudes know what they are getting into. I don't really feel bad for them.

I've seen this in every multi-billion dollar firm I've worked for.

Now that makes sense, but having worked in much smaller corporations I've never been party to it.
