but then, what is abuse?
of course these days practically any slight occuring on a regular basis might be able to be construed as "abuse".
For example I know a couple who's marriage in trouble... hard to put a name on the cause other than her husband failing in his role as a provider and beyond that, not doing anything to help the househould in other ways (he went back to college to finish his degree, but is kind of coasting along and behaving rudely to her). Anyway I'm thinking in this sort of case someone could cast this as a form of abuse, but then that might not be fair to couples who have actual physical abuse. |

"A primary purpose of covenant marriage is to provide both spouses the security and motivation to work hard to make theirs a good marriage, knowing that the other is committed to the same purpose."
I thought that's what marriage was.
