Default sunglasses and aero bars

if you watched the TT stage you may have noticed that many riders didn't wear any eye protection. Liggett even commented on it as not being very smart.

After having aerobars for a couple of weeks now, I fully realize why they do this.

Because you can't see! You have your head down and your eyes are looking forward, i.e. you are looking UP. Sunglasses tend to slip down, even if they don't, the top part of the frame is directly in your vision. You can see over them, you can see under them, but they are still bigtim in the way, and you can't adjust them. If you are looking over them, you might as well not have them on. If you look under, you tend to raise your head and become less aero.

So today, couldn't find my glasses. I rode with no eye protection. Was fine.
