To the disenfranchised
what will be your interest, now that the Republican Party is a shadow of itself, and our interests will be unrepresented for the next who knows how long?
Will any of you become political hermits, focusing upon the finer things of life? How much has politics played a role in your life as opposed to religious activity? For some persons, political participation played a substitute for religion. Will those of us of a more conservative, libertarian perspective make religion an even greater part, or will you seek a different Ersatz?

Basically I am parting ways with the Republican party. Too much pandering to the religious right. No one wants to do anything about national debt.

So I don't believe his popularity will fall as easily because he will always receive favorable press. These people are his kind of people and his friends, so they will frequently shade the story in his favor, subconsciously or perhaps some of them consciously, like the blogger 358 or 538. It is a sad day, in that we are unrepresented and have no President to speak for us. Our party has abandoned us, so we have no voice in our federal government. And through many of his policies he has declared open warfare on us. So do we become as guerrilla fighters, or do we melt into the landscape? It was easy to become as a guerrilla against Clinton, I don't know if I have the energy to fight as we did against the Clintons.

That's nonsense! If it were really that big of a deal with voters, why would they vote in someone who, conservatively, will add billions to the debt?

But the fact that no party cares about responsible spending and line items bothers me most of all. Why is there no movement to reduce the inefficiencies of government, to save what we spend?
