Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. James 1:27

Actually this has been on my mind for some time.

Methinks that it boils down to the two greatest commandments:

1) Love God by keeping yourself spotless; honoring him by staying clean and worthy of his spirit
2) Love thy neighbor by serving those in need- show them genuine friendship, be someone they can rely on, for it is not good for mankind to be alone.
