My ward almost torn apart
http://deseretnews.com/article/1,5143,695210772,00.html
The greenbelt the city wanted to give up is entirely in my ward. This Malloy guy threatened to sue the city and every member of the ward who voiced support for this if they voted to give up the greenbelt (which to me was a no brainer-that or start an HOA to maintain it). Walkable community my ass, he was just worried he wouldn't be able to store his personal crap in the greenspace (which he was doing). Anyway, he "won" so he's back to being Mr. Friendly and I guess the ward will go back to normal. But things would've gotten ugly if the city decided to give up the property. Oh, and as part of his "presentation", he had his 8 year old daughter get up and cry crocodile tears about how she loves to play in the greenbelt. She sits down and the spigot turns off immediately. What a prick. |

No offense, but if it takes something as easy, stupid and lame as this to divide an entire ward, then your ward blows chunks much more than the "normal" ward.

None taken.
Although maybe torn apart was a little too strong on my part. Probably talking more like a few families going inactive over it. Who knows though, because the proposal didn't pass. I just think it could've gotten ugly. |
