Default Minority general authority numbers declining

I am curious to get Indy's take on the fact that the number of minority GAs actually declined from 1992-2002. Indy seemed to indicate that over time, more minority GAs would be called to reflect the church membership.

“A comparison between 1992 and 2002 quorums showed no ethnic minorities in the First Presidency, Quorum of the Twelve, Presidency of the Seventy, and Presiding Bishopric in either 1992 or 2002. The First and Second Quorums of the Seventy had 14 ethnic minority members in 1992 and 8 in 2002, for a total of 13.6 percent and 7.4 percent of the total General Authorities respectively. Thus, in the last ten years, the number of ethnic minorities serving as General Authorities has declined by nearly half, while the total number of General Authorities has actually increased by five.” (Devyn M. Smith, Dialogue, Winter 2005, pp. 69-70.)

For one, the study period ended in 2002.

maybe because there are no minorities being asked to make the decisions of who the next GAs are. So they are unable to call those that they know and trust who are minorities. Whereas the whitebread Utahns know very few minorities, much less ones that are intimate and trusted.

God only makes white Utahns worthy serve as GAs. Didn't you know that?

What happened in October 2007 with the 5 men added to the First Quorum of the Seventy?

Related to this topic, does anyone have access to accurate LDS Church demographic data? Minorities by ethnic group, convert baptisms/year, activity and full tithing percentages, MPriesthood growth trends, etc. would do. That would make these discussions even more relevant.

Somebody slipped up or they wanted to bring the Church up to 1992 standards?
