Default The Mars landing

So what is up with this? We spend a half billion on a ship that can land on Mars, and don't have enough in the budget for a color camera?

Black and white? Did we launch this thing in 1955?

We couldn't wait an extra 15 minutes to get some color photos? Are we really in that big of a rush to see the pictures? Or are you saying color photos are coming? I sure hope so. Seems silly otherwise.

They wanted to be sure that the solar panels were deployed properly, etc. If they weren't, they'd have started troubleshooting.

So you're saying the color photos are yet to come but will come? That would be nice.

Check here. Read the caption for photo 12.

The use of black & white is intentional, and done for numerous reasons (most of which I don't understand). The camera(s) on the lander have numerous capabilities, and I doubt that none of them can do color.

In fact, I've heard that B&W can be much more useful in many applications than color....

What made you so angry this morning? Did you just realize there is a statistical difference between 0.0% and 0.8%? Must be a scary thought after all these years as an actuary.

After nearly two hours, this is the best comeback you could come up with?
