I hope it is better than their most recent disc, which basically sucked.

They have released 2 singles, I think, so far. Both with b-sides, so a total of 4 new songs. They are pretty good.

I just saw them in LA. it was a great show and very long.

The coldplay disc has been leaked on the web and you can download it if you look for it (perhaps song by song at this point). Sounds a lot like.....their other discs.

So they've recorded their song again? Yes!

I've enjoyed Death Cab's new album Narrow Stairs. Plans is still my favorite, with Transatlanticism as number two, and the new one at number three.

I like those, too. I really enjoy Death Cab, although the same criticism of Coldplay could be leveled against DCFC. They show very little growth between releases.

Since you do enjoy DCFC, you may want to check out Grandaddy. A great California band who are now defunct but released several discs along the way. Have a very similar vocal style to Ben Gibbard. Start with "Sumday," which is excellent. If you enjoy that disc, let me know and I can recommend others.

Also, you may want to check out DNTEL, which is basically the pre-cursor to The Postal Service, ben Gibbards electronic side project with Jimmy Tamborello.

As I was posting, I had the same thought. I think it comes down to the fact that mocking Coldplay is just a lot of fun. Probably because they're British.

Thanks for the tips. I'm familiar with DNTEL. I like it, but don't love it. I do love Postal Service and I'll check out Granddaddy.

Excellent recommendations. And if you want to go the other way check out Iron & Wine.

Speaking of side projects The Prize Fighter Inferno is excellent. It's Claudio Sanchez' solo project from Coheed and Cambria.

I really like Iron and wine, although many complain that it is too mellow. I give any Sub Pop band a fair shake.

Never heard The Prize Fighter Inferno. I will check them out. danke.
