States with a unique identity and character
Some states, it really doesn't matter if you are from there, it means nothing and not even the people from there care.
Texas for example, means something. Texans care about Texas. Texas is probably the most distinct in its love for itself. Texas flies its flag at the same height as the USA flag. I'm trying to think of other states. Alaska maybe. Seems they have some pride there. Where else? New York--no. NYC, yes, but New York the state, no one cares about. California. Has a unique brand for itself. Utah, definitely unique, but I don't know that Utahns are actually really proud of it. Louisianans might go on the list. Very unique, has some pride. All bad things though. But still unique. |

Agreed. Texas is by far the most self-absorbed state. None of the others even comes close.
