Default What's up with all the injuries?

It seems that every opponent we've faced this year has carted off 2+ players due to injury. Having followed BYU for years, it always seemed like were physically overmatched when we faced teams from the power conferences. Lavell's passing game seemed to be the dodge around that.

But now it seems like we match right up with them. Harvey eating up 7-9 yards at a pop against Washington and UCLA is very bizarre. Also, it used to be that it was BYU that came away from these games with injury problems. Are we doing something differently, or is this just luck/coincidence? Additionally, Bronco's limiting of full contact during camp seems to not to have had a negative effect.

Religion rises inevitably from our apprehension of our own death. To give meaning to meaninglessness is the endless quest of all religion. When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.

The ages 21-25 are critical in terms of physical development. Humans reach they physical peak around age 26. 70% of BYU is older, heavier, bigger. It may be time for a rule.

We are causing injuries by playing nasty, all the way to the whistle. I.e. taking legal cheap-shots.

Unga belongs in the NFL. He's an extreme example.

I noticed it against Boston College in '06. I stated then that Crowton and Mendenhall had BYU at a level physically that they had not been at for a very long time. BC beat BYU in that game, but I thought BYU was the more physical team.

My opinion is that teams take a coach's personality. Mendenhall is a just a tough SOB. He is a gritty competitor and I think the team takes that blue collar mentality and just goes to work.

You realize that rule would hurt Utah also, right?

Case in point was the last play of the first half. Two players sandwiched Craft just as he released the ball, right in front of the BYU bench. It was brutal. Neuheisel was livid and came running across the field yelling at the ref about the no-call.

Of course it is. BYU's 3-0. It wasn't time for a rule from 2002 to 2006, or even 2007-2008, when BYU started 1-2. But NOW . . .

And of what is Unga an extreme example, pray tell?
