Default Three highlights from Conference:

Statistical report

New GA callings

New temples.

What do these three have in common?

Other than that, maybe conference has outlived its usefulness with the advent of the internet.

I guess you didn't read the last First Presidency message about getting more out of general conference.

It's been written many more times. Except for those three items, nothing new is ever stated.

there are things that are said that are new to people. I'm sure you understand that people are being born all the time, and growing and maturing.

Moreover there are things that people need to hear over and over. Like take care of your families, attend to your spiritual lives.

That's how I picture it. I see Monson opening the Saturday morning session by announcing new temples in Austin TX, Norman OK, Lawrence KS, and so on, and then pausing, ad-libbing something about the widows there, and saying "you've all been Rick Rolled. Those aren't temples; those are permanent road venues, BOO-YAH!"

Lastly, a policy change will have the head coaches set apart as mission presidents.

I think we should go back to the days where BYU head football coaches speak in General Conference.
