The authorities in Texas have apparently found what they were looking for....

....BREAKING NEWS.... Latest Development 9:30 a.m. CDT, Sunday, April 6, 2008 Temple search said to be productive and worth the effort. Law enforcement officer told patrons at Eldorado coffee shop this morning that authorities found everything they wanted and more. Several school buses from San Angelo ISD and Schleicher County ISD are lined up at Schleicher County Courthouse in Eldorado. It appears they are preparing to relocate women and children removed from YFZ Ranch. As yet no comment on where the buses are headed.

I was just reading this.
It is probably safe to assume that there are detailed records of marriages and sealings performed inside their temple, which would basically be a paper trail to statutory rape. Hopefully it is "just" this, and not some form of unimaginable freakery, such as photos, videos, etc....this has the potential to really get ugly.

Not at all. How do you figure?
When there is probable cause, the police will get a warrant and enter for a lawful search. What does it matter the type of building? I suppose that if sometime in the future, LDS members decide to take refuge inside a temple in violation of police order to surrender, then the police would enter the LDS temple. But they would do so regardless of this FLDS instance. So no, no precedent.

the biggest tribal powerplay is to invade and carry off all the women and children.

FOr some reason, the image of some beer-bellied sheriff announcing the success of the temple search at the local coffee shop is not very reassuring.

It's not illegal for a 16-year-old to marry

Combined with the children being hauled off in

I hope the FLDS exercise all their legal rights and file a lawsuit (if appropriate) against the local authorities. |

Are there girls who are under 15? I am pretty sure the authorities would be aware that 16 year olds can be married. My guess is that they are targeting those under 16. In which case, yes, it is considered rape if they consummated such a marriage. The actual act of getting married would not be rape, however.

I read that the girl had a baby when she was 15.
