Just read this article about the difference between boxing and Mixed Martial Arts.

That's a great article.
It explains what boxers don't understand about Chuck, he's not boxing, he's using angle, street punches that work better than boxing. His punches are kenpo punches, made for the street and MMA, not boxing punches with big gloves.

Let me go on record as saying that Mayweather would get his ass kicked my Chuck Liddell.

I am stoked for Rampage vs. Liddell. Rampage demolished Chuck in their Pride fight. It will be a great fight as both fighters have improved since then.
I am still getting over the GSP loss. I wonder what that does for the welterweight class now. I was hoping for a Hughes vs. GSP rematch. I don't think Serra will stay champ for long.

I think Chuck Liddell could go toe to toe with any fighter of any genre of any period in any venue (bare fisted, boxing , martial arts, MMA, and 19th century gunslinging).
He is the best of all time. And it makes me feel good that a white guy is the best of all time. |

Why do you suppose there's any racial innuendo here? I don't. If some other ethnic groups start investing the time and talent into MMA, the others will rise to the top. Nonetheless, Liddell is a great fighter during a time, when boxing doesn't have its greatest. If we are to argue boxing's greatest are to include Ali, Liston, Holmes, then Liddell wouldn't necessarily compare. However, if you read the article, the restrictions of boxing make it so that a boxer couldn't necessarily cross over with success.

Boxing does have its current greats. Just not in the heavyweights.
Hopkins and Mayweather are hall-of-fame caliber. |

Boxing is not what it was in the eighties and before. It is a shadow of itself. Mayweather wouldn't have done well against past greats. Boxing needs smaller gloves to return power to all boxers.
