Default Genealogy mysteries

I'm farting around on new.familysearch.org and apparently I have stumbled on records to indicate (if correct) that my grandfather may not have been an only child (as my mother believes), and that in fact he may have had an older brother. Born in 1880.

Yes, that is right. My mom might have an uncle who was born in 1880. Which means that I would have a great-uncle born in 1880. And talking about going back in years, my great grandfather was born before the Civil War started.

Getting to the bottom of this will be interesting.
