Default Conference Weekend

is arriving.

How many sessions will you catch?

I could've kept going with poll choices, but, alas, the limit is 10.

When I lived in Utah I loved conference weekend. I could listen to conference while I went on a run, cleaned my house, cooked, drove around town, etc. I loved the break from church and yet I still received some spiritual enlightenment while I crossed some chores off my list.

Since leaving Utah, I have to either be at the church or in front of my computer to hear conference. That means I don't listen to very much at all, but my weekend gets ruined by this nagging feeling that I should be hearing it all. I hate Mormon guilt.

That's the beauty of Dish Network. You can DVR conference and promise yourself that you'll watch it later, all the while you can have a great weekend. You only feel guilty for a brief moment when a few months later when you delete GC to clear space for Iron Chef America.

Your poll says "attend."

So my answer is zero.

"Attend" certainly doesn't preclude a mediated attendance (radio, TV, Internet).

Haha! This is a problem I've run into as well. We set the Tivo and a few months later, we haven't watched it yet, and we're approaching the next GC.

Here's a good, guilt-free way to kill multiple birds with one stone. DVR conference on Saturday. For the next couple of months, for Family Home Evening watch one Apostle talk, or two Seventy talks. That way, your Saturday is free, and you don't have to prepare FHE lessons for several weeks.

In all seriousness, I do think this is a good way to go, especially if you have kids. Our kids usually zone out pretty early on Saturday. We did this a bit last conference when we missed a session, and the kids can do much better listening in bite-sized portions. Plus, if you want, you can take some time to discuss the talk.

I like the way you think, Clark. That's not a bad idea.

Three hours spread among the 5 sessions. My body is geared for three hours a week of church.
