Romney as Veep
This guy says Romney's the obvious choice. Only problem? McCain and Romney hate each other.
Romney seems like a good VP candidate. He lacked the charisma to win the prez nomination, but nobody cares about charisma in a VP...just look at Gore and Cheney. And he's got the conservative credentials (for the most part) to please more hard-core elements of the party who are still bitter that RINO McCain got the nomination. And he'll add economic strength to balance out McCain's strength on defense. So he does seem ideal. But both Romney and McCain seem to have good-sized egos, and they're clearly not BFF. Would they really be willing to share a ticket? |

That they don't like each other is one thing (and McCain seems like he perhaps doesn't suffer fools as gladly as Reagan might have). Romney also is widely mistrusted, I think. I doubt he would be the pick.

We had a wholesaler provide a lunch meeting the other day.
While chit chatting he said he had heard Romney's name being floated around. The wholesaler, not LDS and from Denver said, McCain better not pick Huckabee or you guys will show McCain and Huck what payback is. Kind of funny he assumed everyone in the room was active LDS. Out of 16, maybe 5 are active LDS. Anyway, the conclusion was it is kind of ironic that religious folks like the mormons and evangelicals won't vote for each other because of their religion. |

That aside, I wonder what more Romeny brings that others can bring. He might help with Michigan, but I don't really know how much. It sounds like there are other current governors out there that can provide better political options.

If Romney doesn't have enough charisma to win, where does McCain rank?
I'd be iffy about supporting a team of no-charisma guys to run against Obama. |
