Default What are we to think of the former NFL players begging

for disability money and increased pensions?

You played a violent game, that no human body was designed to withstand.

We love that. We love the fact that you are willing to throw your head into someone at full speed in complete violence. We love it when you stagger up, reeling, and then stay in the game for the next play. We love it when you come back after repeated concussions and brain injuries.

So now you can't walk. You drool on yourself. What's the entertainment in this? We don't want to see this. Move along, get out of the way.

The next season is coming, and I don't want you cripples and brain-injured old farts to get in the way of my enjoyment.

i read a study once that said a running back carrying the ball up the middle and getting tackled is equivalent to getting in a head on collission at 25 mph.

So you are getting in 25-35 car wrecks per game.

Maybe this is why my mom didn't ever let me play.

I LOL'd at MW's post, though.

I think they shouldn't ask for disability for 2 reasons:

1. They didn't have to play football for a living.
2. They should have managed their money better.

And I agree with you Mike. If the guy can't continue to damage his body effectively for my entertainment, they need to move on and let someone else do it.

It is most of the older players that are requesting money, ones that played in the 70s and early 80s that werent compensated as well.
