A Pet Peeve
of mine is when Latter-day Saints misconstrue what other Christians believe. With the occasional exception, it's ignorance on parade.

My pet peeve is when people close their testimonies "in the name of THY Son..."
Also, long opening or closing prayers.

If you really wanted to know you wouldn't just throw your question at me like a patron who wants the server to bring out another dish.
Nonetheless, this entry from the Catholic Encylopedia will get you started. Suffice it to say, Christians are satisfied that their understandings of such things are consistent with the Bible. http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/04764a.htm Oh yea, but none of this was my point. My point was that Mormons consistently misconstrue what other Christians believe. I'll add that the way Mormons typically use Romans 8:16 ("The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit that we are the children of God") is completely out of context. Paul is talking about being adopted as a Child of God because Christ is in you. If a Mormon actually takes the time to understand Romans 8 (a novel idea, that), s/he'll discover that the way missionaries usually present verse 16 to investigators is inaccurate at best and flat out dishonest at worst.

I never once used Romans 8:16 on my mission. Does that make me a bad missionary? Maybe that's why I never became AP.

If SEIQ was really interested in highlighting an example of what he claims is going on, he would have been better served to link the post(s) in question, rather than his sanctimonious CB outburst.

I don't know what "the post in question" is. And I wasn't "sanctimonious" and I didn't have an "outburst." I was concise and accurate.
