BYU W Volleyball in final 4
I watched them beat Nebraska last night, 3-0. Great job by the ladies.
Most satisfying BYU win I have seen in some time. Finally a sport that we seem to be good at. |

We get to take on the Univ. of Texas in the semifinal.
It was cool to see the racial/ethnic diversity on the team and in the stands as well among the BYU fans. Compared to the almost entirely lilly-white Nebraska players and fans. Before I'm dead and gone, hopefully, BYU will become a much more culturally diverse place. Down with white Utah culture and up with everything else. |

I watched the first two sets before it got too late and I went to sleep. BYU looked really good. I've watched some of their games this year and they've been good all season, but they seem to be playing their best right now. I think with the way they're playing that they actually have a chance to win the whole thing, but Stanford has to be considered the favorite

She got to meet some of the BYU players after the game as they were walking off the field and I will say I came away thoroughly impressed with the high quality young women on the team. They were super nice and made my daughter feel like they really were happy she went to see them play -- great representatives of the school, and by extension, the church. For tonight I'm sure it probably won't be easy to beat Texas, and just getting to this stage is a huge accomplishment. But it sure would be sweet to see a national championship. The mens team is often in the hunt for it, but only about 25 schools have mens teams, while practically all D1 schools have a womens volleyball team. So winning it all would be HUGE.

Great win.
Close first game, Texas changed tactics in 2nd set and were blown out. Hinges came off for BYU at end of 3rd set. BYU hung in there in the 4th, some signs of choking, bad passes, being rattled, but rallied and came back to win after a controversial touch call that went against Texas and gave BYU it's second match point. And Hamson finished it off on a monster hit off the top of the Texas block. I have to say I have a sports crush on Alexa Gray. Mmmmmm. The is one of those once in a half-century moments in BYU sports. Definitely worth it. Great job Lady Cougs. I think I might even start a new subforum for women's sports at BYU in their honor. Our men choke. But our women have something. Loving it. |

Read in the Trib that Alexa Gray's boyfriend is Anson Winder.
And that Gray joined the church in 2009. |

Is Winder LDS now? I hadn't heard that.
