Default Favre wants out of GB

Looks like he's going to play again, just not in Green Bay.

I'll bet Aaron Rogers stopped buying them last year.

What is it with this retiring and "un"-retiring fad the last 15 years or so? (Is there such a thing as a 15-year fad?) Is it just to see all these heartwarming memoirs of yourself? Wanna-be living legend?

Very lame. Can't say I didn't see it coming.

Huge egos crave the spotlight. That's why Jordan came out of retirement twice. That's why Malone always threatened to leave Utah. That's why Steve Young wouldn't quit.

That's why Favre refuses to hang it up.

Excellent point. Someone should have told him that he should have retired sooner, as the dermatology treatments weren't working.

Favre should do the Roger Clemmons thing and wait until about week 12 and then join a contender with a young QB that doesn't have playoff experience.

Sounds like the Packers were pressuring him to make a decision right after the season...how can anybody be surprised that a guy as competitive as Favre didn't really have his mind made up?

Packers are doing the smart thing long term. If Favre had come back as the starter I think Rogers would bolt. Losing your future so that your past can play another season seems more than a bit unwise. Favre may have been the better QB for this season but I think it's worth keeping your young guy around.

It seemed like only thing Packers could do. Favre and others brought this situation on with the un-retirement thing. Oh, I'm staying in Bilouxi/Gulfport MS right now. There is a street named after Pat Favre. I don't know who the person is, but must be related.
