Tonight
This team is not the 2004 juggernaut and that's ok. UM is terrible this season and OSU is in the upper half of a down PAC-10,
but it doesn't matter. BJ is not Alex Smith, but he is unwavering on 4 and 5 with the game on the line. He is 10-0. It's not a pretty game, but I still text my brothers after every series. Lots of hard hits, disguised blitzes on 3rd, yelling at the TV for two hours and a lucky break; an extra opportunity. I instruct the kids to put their hats on backwards for the final drive. 4th and five. First down... Touchdown! Jumping up and clapping. Stats are stats. Wins are wins. This is not a national championship team, but that's ok; I don't care. I love college football

I'm not sure this team wouldn't give 2004 a run, with the defense. 2004 never played teams as good as OSU or TCU, or BYU this year for that matter, did it?
BTW, I checked the other day and the teams were comparably ranked after nine games.

I think the 2004 team drops 50 on this team.

Perhaps. We'll never know. They only dropped 28 on New Mexico.

2004 Utah wins by at least 2-3 TDs. It wouldn't even be a contest.

I have to disagree. The 2004 team had a good D. I think the 08 d is better but the 04 offense was incredible and the 08 o is not. That is the big difference.

Whit's teams have character. He teaches character better as well as anyone I've ever seen. You all might be right, but Whit seems to get his teams to rise to the occassion. It's a silly speculation anyway. I'm sorry 8ball brought it up.

2004 was 2004. This is 2008 and we have a great D, a clutch QB, and Utah is having a great season.

But like I posted, it's been a great season. BJ's drives against OSU and TCU were two of the most exciting I've seen as a fan. Utah is 10-0.
