All the discussion on cougarboard about 1st round draft picks
Had me thinking. I'm pretty sure I shouldn't be an NBA GM with the number one draft pick, because I think I would do a poor job. These are the guys I though should be the number one picks.
2007: Greg Oden (still could be right about that one) 2006: Brandon Roy 2005: Chris Paul 2004: Emeka Okafor (man I really missed on Dwight Howard) 2003: Lebron James (however, I only pick him on marketing reasons. You could not pass on him for that reason alone. On talent I would have drafted Wade) 2002: Caron Butler 2001: Eddie Griffin (This would have been the all time draft bust if I was picking here. Not sure what the Hell I was thinking) 2000: Kenyon Martin (Also, I had a really tough decision over whether Quintin Richardson or Martin should go first) 1999: Andre Miller 1998: Tim Duncan So there you have it, proof why I shouldn't be an NBA GM. I'm not sure anyone will stack up much better. |

These are who I thought should be drafted:
1997- Tim Duncan 1998- Antawn Jamison 1999- Jonathan Bender 2000- Marcus Fizer- man he was a beast in college. 2001- Eddie Griffin- I am with you, I loved this kid in college and thought he would be an absolute stud in the NBA. 2002- Yao Ming- you cant teach size, however I did like Jay Williams as well as Dajuan Wagner 2003- Lebron James 2004- Emeka Okafor 2005- Sean May- I knew he would be undersized but after that tourney run I thought he would be special. 2006- Rudy Gay 2007- Greg Oden- see Yao Ming.

Exactly what I was thinking. Two 100 point games in highschool, he was unstoppable.
