Cocks used for fighting <public shrugs shoulders>
"Deputies also found at least 20 pairs of specialized razor blades that can be attached to roosters as spurs during combat, he said. They also found steroids, injectable vitamins, even bottles of the nutritional drink Ensure, which is given to the roosters to bulk up, Wise said.
Several dead roosters were found, including some in individual carrying cases, authorities said. Two of the men found at the scene each had $1,000 in cash in their pockets, money that is suspected of being used to gamble on the birds as they fight to their death, Wise said." Vick's mistake: using mammals... "Eighteen men were detained and given misdemeanor citations for attending a cockfight, then released" http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cg.../BAKBRPP1Q.DTL |

Some guy on ESPN this morning said that in Virginia dog fighting was moved from a misdemeanor offense to a felony only 8 days after they arrested Vick. Has anyone else heard that?
