Stress fracture for Austin Collie
http://www.sltrib.com/collegesports/...104?source=rss
Not a good way to start the season. Although Collie has been able to play through pain before and has had success. I'm not as worried about Northern Iowa as I am as we get into the Washington and UCLA part of our schedule. If there is a silver lining, it's that Hall will have to learn to trust some of the other receivers on his roster (Reed, Pitta, George, Kozlowski or Chambers). A stretch as I'd rather have a 100% healthy Collie, but hopefully he's smart enough to know that we need a healthy Collie all year, not a banged up one. |

It seems that stress fracture type injuries tend to linger. Isn't this what Mike Vranes had in his foot several years ago? I don't think he ever fully recovered from it. The good news is that Collie has time and toughness on his side.

Lunch said it was just announced this week.....not discovered this week. As you know, HL has yummy sources.
I am hoping AC will be sound for the UW game. He has 5 weeks to get straight, in addition to whatever time he has already been healing. What is a normal healing time for a stress fracture? A month?

He'll be fine. We don't need him til the Washington game anyway which is still 5 weeks away. After being on the field for just a couple of snaps, last year, he sat out the AFA game because of his ankle injury and we annihilated them.

Injuries suck.
Here's to a full and quick recovery.

Bronco says Collie will sit out about 2 weeks. Austin says he will start practicing again about 1 week before the season opener against Northern Iowa, and that the injury "isn't that serious".
